Space Exploration

​Before the holiday, during an English evaluation situation, students of secondary 2 in program LCC wrote a production about space exploration after looking at the different topics with the teacher. They could choose to talk about the International Space Station, the Hubble Space Telescope, the Darwin Mission or a mission to go back to the moon. After that, the teacher corrected the texts and sent them to the students. The students corrected their mistakes to publish their writing productions on Signé SJB.

​The International Space Station (ISS)

The ISS is further than 400km above the Earth, our planet. This space station is a research facility, still slowly growing. People from different counties continue to be added to the crew of the ISS. Lots of experiments are done there about a lot of fields such as life sciences, materials, observations about Earth and astronomy.  They also study life in low gravity to see if we can build bases on the Moon and send humans to Mars, because only rovers have been on Mars. They can stay more than 100 days in the station. The ISS is the heir to the Apollo missions (Apollo 11, 12, 14, 15, 16 and 17), missions that had the goal to land humans on the Moon and bring them safely back. The European astronomers have found an Earth-like planet (a planet looking like Earth) that could support life. The planet is in a planetary system called Gliese 581 and the system is in the constellation of Libra. The system is very small and have three planets; Gliese 581 b, Gliese 581 c and Gliese d orbiting around their sun just like ours . Its sun is about one third the size of our Sun. Scientists are doing research so they could see if we can live on Gliese 581 c. Because of all of this, I think the mission of the ISS is very important for the future of humanity since we could be able to go on Mars, build bases on the moon, live on Gliese 581 c which is an Earth-like planet and have more knowledge about space.

Building a Permanent Habitat on the Moon

​Hello, my name is Jean-Aubin, and I am in secondary 2 in Saint-Jean-Baptiste school. In English class, we talked about space exploration. Today, I will talk about a mission for building a permanent habitat on the moon. NASA will want to go back to the moon. They will want to build the permanent habitat to the moon`s south pole because there is always the sunlight. They will dig to try to find frozen water. they will install a solar system to collect energy for the base. The NASA will want to do the missions very soon. Now how will they build this permanent habitat? They will launch a vehicle to the moon. The vehicle will be going to have a lunar lander and a module to build the habitat. NASA will want to do space tourism on the moon. This will help for the space exploration. The astronauts will not be obligated to go to the International Space Station to stay in space, they will go in the moon`s habitat. Maybe there will be a civilisation on the moon. This mission is very important to me because the populations on Earth will not stop growing. Starting a civilisation on the moon will solve this problem. Space exploration will be faster and easier if there is a station on the moon. This mission appeals to me because it will allow NASA to advance in science and develop many new technologies. Maybe they will do this soon. If they succeed, it will be a big scientific, historic and space explorations advancement.

​Living on the Moon

Hello, today I'm writing something about a unit I did in English class. We had to choose one out of four missions; I chose the mission that is talking about living on the moon because in my opinion it is the most interesting.
 
The objective of the operation is to build a permanent habitat on the moon.
The NASA astronauts will be helped by the space shuttleAres1. It will carry a lunar lander: Ares 1 as a booster Thruster and a rocket engine, it is used to push the spaceship far enough to get to the moon. They want to make it happen very soon.
 
They will feed with solar energy. They will put the solar panels on the moon’s south pole because it is exposed to constant sunlight. They will also dig to see if they can find frozen water somewhere.
 
This mission will be challenging because it is difficult to survive in this hostile landscape. With that being said, they will collect information about the hazards on the moon. In my opinion, it will be valuable. Its might even be the start of space tourism!

​Habitable Planet

Hey, my name is Phédy and today, I am going to talk about discovering a habitable planet and what they will do to know more about this planet.
The mission’s name its Darwin Mission, and his goal is finding a new planet. They will send telescopes and spacecraft in the orbit of the planet, like that they will know some information about the planet. The mission will happen on the Earth and in space. There will be people in the Earth who will control the telescopes and the spacecraft from the Earth. The scientists already found a new planetary system, named Gliese 581. In this planetary system, there are 3 planets named Gliese 581 b, Gliese 581 c and Gliese 581 d. In these 3 planets, the planet Gliese 581 c is like the Earth. It has the same temperature, it has water, the sun of the planetary system has 1.3% smaller of our sun. The scientist estimates than the temperature is between 0°C and 40° C.  diameter is 1.5 times bigger than the Earth and its mass is five times heavier than the Earth. One year on Gliese 581 c is 13 days. This mission will be a chance to have a new planet and if there is a new planet there will be a new life.

​International Space Station

Today, I will present a mission about the international space station or ISS is its people a research laboratory that orbits around the Earth. To search development on gravity, understand about the gravity on Mars.  They were looking at the planet to see how gravitating reacted. They do research this for have a more exact science. These why research on gravity walk in space. Now I tell you how they got the equipment they need. For this mission they need a science material, and they do observation and study of astronomy on planets. The goal of this mission is to be able to understand gravity to mars in the years to come for better understand the gravity on this universe. That’s why they must install a space station. They look gravity too because they observe that mars have a potential biological and he has water, so they want to see is gravity so that we can live on mars. I chose this mission because it is very important discover if life is possible of mars, they must therefore observe the gravity. This   mission is important for the future of humanity because it’s important to know if life is possible elsewhere in the years to come. It Is for this reason that I chose this mission. Thank you!

​International Space Station

Hey, my name is Médhy and I am in secondary 2. I am going to talk to you about the international space station. Why? Because I need to talk to you about an important mission for the future of humanity. The scientists don’t have the time for explain what this mission is because they have a tight schedule. An international space station is a research center in the space. The mission is a 400km above the Earth, so imagine there are 400km between us and the space station, this mission is Is always in progression. The goal of this mission is that Scientist researchers do an experimentation in a space laboratory about an Earth observation or astronomy. And you know what? Crew members are from different countries. It's amazing no? They study life in low gravity. This knowledge will eventually allow us to plan human mission to mars and to build bases on the moon. Rotating crews can spend more than 100 days on the station.

​Hubble Space Telescope

Hi, my name is Raphaëlle and I’m in secondary two. In my English class, we talked about space exploration and now I’m going to do a project, a little text about Hubble space telescope.
 I’m going to talk about the mission Hubble space telescope because it really interests  me to learn about this space telescope. When I was younger, I really liked everything that talked about space and telescope, this is why I talk about this mission. The Hubble space telescope missions is about is a little group of astronauts who flew shuttle to repair the Hubble space telescope and had new technology. That new technology will give new life to the old telescope.  They needed to do spacewalks and work at 600km higher than the earth as a telescope circled the earth every 97 minutes. For example, the astronauts replaced all gyroscopes. The three goals of their mission are to repair the broken space telescope, put scientific equipment and to replace components (internal and external). Their mission (Hubble space telescope) is important for the future of humanity because, it’s going to help scientists to interpret the cosmos and to warm us if there is any meteorite in our planet’s path and for, we can learn more about space.

​Discovering a Habitable Planet

Hi everybody, I am a student in secondary 2 in Saint-Jean-Baptiste. I am going to talk about discovering a habitable planet and if the humans are alone in the universe. The scientists are searching for a new habitable planet in space. They will send a telescope to see if human are alone or not. The scientists think they will find a life on another planet like Mars. Some people think stars are different world or other galaxies. This mission will be very complex because they will have to concentrate and to command the telescope. The telescope will look around to see if it could find other planets or discover new things. They will collect data and images and send them back to teams on earth. If the machine finds a new thing or a planet. It will send the images back to scientists on earth. I chose to talk this about because it is very interesting. This mission is very important because the scientists will want to know if humans are alone. If one day we have to leave earth. We will know where to go.

​Space Exploration Project

In English class, we talked about space exploration and today I will talk about a mission.
 
A crew of scientist wants to discover a new planet habitable like Gliese 581 c. Gliese 581 c is an Earth-Like planet. This planet is in a new planetary system with another sun. Gliese 581 c has characteristics like the Earth. The scientists think that there could be many others Earth-Like planets. It’s why I will talk about this mission. To accomplish this mission, a group of scientists named Darwin mission are on earth and they will be sending four free-flying spaceships in space. Three of these spacecrafts will carry space telescopes that can measure four metres. The goal of this mission is finding a new Earth-Like planet. For that, these spaceships will analyze their atmospheres and search for the same chemical characteristics as earth. I already read a blog and a saw two comments that took my attention. A girl named Emily said there are billions of stars in our galaxy and there are many other galaxies. So, I think it’s impossible that no other Earth-Like planet exists. Another boy named Keith said that scientists confirmed the presence of water on Mars a long time ago, so it is possible that other planets have characteristics needed to survive. I chose to talk about this mission because I think it's important to search for a new Earth-Like planet because many problems can happen and if we are not prepared humanity disappear. This mission is important for the future of humanity because with climatic problems, our planet can be destroyed and finding a new habitable planet can be an emergency plan.

​Discovering a Habitable Planet 

Hi, I'm going to present to you an article about discovering a new planet. This mission is very important for the future and our life. The ground crew of the Darwin Mission will be sending four separate spacecraft into space to search for another planet like our planet. How they can search another Earth-like planets? The scientists will take the free-flying spacecraft. These free-flying spacecraft will search for Earth-like planets and they will analyze their atmospheres. The goal of scientists is discovering other planets fit for humans. Why do they do this mission? This  mission is going to tell us if we are alone in the universe. Maybe there are people on Venus or Mercury . But I read in a text that there is a planet that looks like Earth. It’s called Gliese 581. It’s in the constellation Libra. The scientists think that probably it could have water on this unknown planet. On this planet, the temperature could be between 0 and 40 degrees Celsius. The temperature on this planet is the same as ours. I chose this mission for my article because if our planet is damaged by big catastrophes, we could  go to another one and with  the research, we can see if we are not alone. This mission is important for humanity because it should answer our question: Are we alone in the universe?

Discovering a Habitable Planet

Hi everybody, today I'm going to talk about a very important mission for me. The mission is to discover a habitable planet. I think this mission is very important for the future of humanity, because we are in a bad situation with the amount of pollution and all of this trash, that can be, with the time, very dangerous. To stop this, we have two solutions, stop to pollute the earth or go to a habitable planet. More specifically, the goals of this project are to search a planet very similar to earth. To better advance their project and find an earth-like planet faster, they are creating a spatial ship. This means that the crew of scientists are on earth, but the space shuttle is in space they control it with a computer. On this space craft it would have a telescope to see very far. Personally, I think within one hundred years the crew of scientists will find a habitable planet for us. The reason I think this is very simple. There is a billion of stars and other galaxies than us, and the technology advance at a very fast time. On top of that, scientists discovered a planet called Gliese 581 c. This planet is very similar to our planet, but the problem is that it is in another galaxy.
 
The reason why I decided to talk about this is because I want to inform some people, who don't know about this problem.

In english class, we talked about extraterrestial life. I'm going to talk about a mission that has to goal to discovering an habitable planet. I read a document about this mission. The scientists want to be the first to found an habitable planet and they have several means to discover this one. They will send four spacialship in the space on different place. They will collect data, pictures and they will do analyze on the atmosphere of planet around stars. I read a text about the European astronomers who found a Earth-like planet. The planet named Gliese 581 c, she was in a very small system with only 3 planet and a sun. This planet is bigger than Earth, she have approximatively the same temperature and the water could be like oceans on this planet. This system was in the constellation of Libra. I choose this mission because I want to learn about the Earth-like planet and I believe that it is important to know a planet on which, in an emergency, we could go. This mission is important for the future humanity because if one day an apocalypse was on the whole planet, we would be in danger so I think it will be better to go to another planet to save us.

​Hubble Space Telescope 

Hi, I’m Rym Houari. I’m a student of secondary 2 in the program LCC. In my English class, we talked about space exploration. That’s why I will talk about a mission that happened in space.
Effectively, the mission was to fly aboard the Atlantis Shuttle to repair the Hubble Space Telescope. They also installed new technology that gave this old telescope new life. The mission was assigned to a team of astronauts. The Hubble Space Telescope is located to 600 km above the Earth and it circles the planet Earth every 97 minutes. To reach the Hubble Space Telescope, the team of astronauts as numerous spacewalks. They did a fantastic work because, for example, they replaced six gyroscopes, installed a field camera and a spectrograph, and repaired Hubble’s most prominent camera, the Advanced Survey Camera. The goals of this mission were to replace internal and external components, install new scientific equipment and repair broken instruments. The Hubble Space Telescope will be helpful to warn us if a meteorite comes to Earth’s path. It will also help scientists to understand the cosmos, like example, to understand the planet Gliese 581 c. This planet has the same characteristics as our planet. So, maybe we will be able to live on this planet if we learn more about this Earth-like planet.
I wanted to talk about this mission, because, I think this mission will help us to learn about our galaxy and eventually to learn about the planet Gliese 581 c. For me, it’s important to understand where we are situated.
This mission will help the Hubble Space Telescope to learn about planets we found in our Galaxy. We will maybe discover a planet that we are able to live on. Imagine if we could live on another planet of our galaxy! It would be an important discovery for the history of the Humanity!

Searching For Life-Supporting Planets

Hi, today I am going to talk about an interesting space mission that may help us for the future. It will determine if there is life on other planets.
 
This mission will send four spacecraft into space to search for life-supporting planets. A team of scientists would be the first ones to know if there’s a habitable planet. The spacecraft will visit different planets around stars and analyze their atmosphere. They will also be equipped with telescopes that will collect data and images to send all those details back to earth. The main goal of the mission is obviously to find other earth-like planets. One of the reasons why I'm interested in this space mission is because I would like to know if there is a possible chance to live in another planet that contains the same life than on Earth. I also think it is important for the humanity because if something wrong happens to the Earth that we cannot fix, we will have other planets to go. For example, the Gliese 581 is a planet that European astronomers have found that could support life with characteristics like the Earth’s. Another example is Keith’s blog that talks about the presence of life in other planets including important details about habitation that we should need to survive in another planet.

Hello, I'm Lucas and I am writing on the school newspaper for my English class. I am going to present a space mission and explain it to you.
The international space station (ISS) is a space station where astronauts are doing space experiments like life science, earth observation and astronomy. The mission is currently active in the international space station that is in space. The international space station is slowly growing because all countries are adding components to the station to help the research. The goal of the mission is to do space experiments to eventually build a base on the moon, send people to mars and/or discover life. Nasa is trying to send telescopes into space to know if Gliese 581 c (Gliese 581 c is a possible habitable planet but more research is needed to confirm if it is habitable) is habitable, but why look for planet if we can’t go on them? That’s why I chose this mission because with the research, it is going to help us to go on other planets. This mission is important for humanity because with those experiments, we could build more powerful spaceships and maybe reach other planets because reaching other planets could help us get more resources and prevent big catastrophe like asteroids by evacuating everyone from earth and moving them to another planets.

​Building a Permanent Habitat on the Moon.

Hi everyone, I just finished a unit about space exploration in English and I found it very interesting, so I am going to present you an article about a space mission.
The Nasa astronauts will have a mission very soon. This mission consists to dig on the moon to see if there is frozen water and install solar energy panels to give energy to the base. An Ares 1 launch vehicle will carry a lunar lander and modules to build a permanent habitat on the surface of the moon. I support this mission because I support the fact that we continue to explore the Moon. Also because if they do find water or frozen water, it will be revolutionary. I find it very important for the future because it may pave the way for space tourism. I find it very important for the future also because if one day the earth explode or else, we could go on the moon before we die.

​Discovering a Habitable Planet

The mission that I chose is about discovering other planets for the future. The mission’s name is Darwin. One group of scientists on Earth will oversee this mission.  They want to send space shuttles to search for information and details about planets in space. Their goals are to find data and images concerning the chemical signature life. Some European astronomers found a planet similar to Earth 20.5 light years away! The name of the planet is Gliese 581c. On this planet, the temperature is relatively cool so scientists think it could have water on the surface. Gliese 581c has its own system. scientists think that the planet will be able to support life. In consequence, there is high gravity and it feel like it's impossible to have vegetable or animal life. I chose this mission because it's important to find another planet like ours. If one day there is too many people on Earth or the planet dies from pollution, we will be able to move to another planet. This mission is important for the future because we will be able to solve all the Earth’s problems.

Space Tourism on the Moon

Hi readers. My name is Zoé. Today I will do an article for our school newspaper. In English class, we are talking about planets, NASA, scientists and more. One of our tasks is to choose one of four subjects and present it to you. Today I will talk about building a permanent habitat on the moon.
In the future, NASA astronauts want to build a permanent habitat on the moon. More precisely, they will go on the south pole of the moon because it is exposed to constant sunlight. They will travel with the Ares 1, a launch vehicle that can transport a lot of furniture or people at a time. The vehicle will also carry a lunar lander and modules to build the habitat.
To build it, they must dig to see if there is frozen water somewhere, install solar energy panels and collect energy for the base. The moon is a very hostile environment, so the information they will find will be very beneficial for the habitat they will construct.
Just like on Gliese 581, an earth-like planet that could probably host life, they want to find water. The difference is that they want to find frozen water on the moon because they could not find liquid water on the surface. While Gliese 581, may possibly have water on its surface.
This mission will be very important for the future of humanity because it will open the way for space tourism. There are a lot of people interested to visit other planets. For example, Ashley, a girl that talked about her opinion on a blog we did, said that humans are very curious about a lot of things. They climbed high mountains, crossed the oceans all because of curiosity. They sure are interested about going to other planets.
Did you know that Neil Armstrong, the first man to set foot on the moon, inspired many people. They didn’t want to be astronauts, but they did not know that going on the moon was a possibility. Since Neil Armstrong, a lot of people have the goal to go on the moon one day.
I think this mission will be very difficult, but I chose it because I want to visit planets. I am all for space tourism as well, but I don’t want to be an astronaut. I simply want to go to visit and look around. Not search for intelligent life or water, but simply for recreational purposes.

​Building a Base on the Moon

Hi I’m Naomi Larouche. My class and I wrote texts about space during English class. Some people didn’t choose the same subject as me. There is a lot to talk about space. Below, you will find my text. I hope you enjoy!
 
Now, there are astronauts from the NASA in space. They are studying the life in no-gravity. The NASA wants to create a base on the moon so people can live there. They are on the international space station to study that. The ISS (the international space station) is a place at 400 km above the earth. The astronauts are especially studying the no-gravity life when they are outside the space station doing spacewalks. It helps to see if people can live in those conditions during years and not only months like the astronauts. Some people found that building a base on the moon to make people live on it is spectacular. It would help save the earth because there will be less persons that live there. We would live on the moon. That is really exiting. We will also bring some nations together. Because a lot of countries would participate at this event. I took this idea because I thought that it can help the future generation. I also found it fascinating all the things that we can now do with the technology we have today.

Building a Permanent Habitat on the Moon

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is starting a new project. They will want to build a permanent and habitable base on the moon. They will go back to the moon to build a base. They will build the base with module created on the Earth. the module will travel with the astronauts in the lunar lander. We think they will create the base in the south face of the moon, because it is exposed to constant sunlight. With this sunlight , they can use solar panels to have energy and they want to dig a hole to see if the moon have frozen water . This is a hard mission, because it is difficult to survive on moon. They will need collect more information, but for that, they will need to go back to the moon. This mission is a very big challenge with the information they have about the moon, but it is the base of the space tourism. We need a little base on the moon to travel on mars. It is like a transit in an airport when we take the plane , but this is more difficult than to just build an airport .

Hello, I'm going to talk to you about the mission to repair the Hubble space telescope . the Hubble space telescope mission was to repair internal and external components of the Hubble space telescope and to repair what was broken  and too also add new scientific equipment. The people who did this mission is an organisation of astronauts. This mission was at 600km above the earth. To do their task, they went on a numerous spacewalks. Their goal was to repair the Hubble space telescope so I could do a better work and too it was also to install news technologies to give a new life to old telescope. In class, read a text about Gliese, Gliese is a planet that possesses characteristics similar to earth, but we didn't have the Technologie to explore this news solar system. I think maybe we could try to use Hubble space telescope to learn more about this news planet. This mission was really an importante mission for the future of humanity because the Hubble space telescope can be continuing to help scientist's  for knowing more about the cosmos. it can also continue to warm us if a meteor go to the earth. I chose to talk about this mission because it’s a very important subject.

​Building a Permanent Habitat on the Moon

Hi, today with my class, we had to write a text about many missions in space like, Hubble space telescope, International space station (ISS), Finding a habitable planet or building a permanent habitation on the Moon. I choose the mission 4: building a permanent habitation on the Moon.
The people who are going to participate on this mission are NASA astronauts. This mission will be on the moon in our galaxy. The people who created this mission say that the mission will take place very soon. To do this mission, they will use Ares 1, a launch vehicle that will take a lunar lander and all the materials to build the permanent habitat on the moon. The goal of this mission is to collect all the info about the danger of building the permanent habitat and see if it is worth it. Because I’m interest in this subject, I read a blog about it and the person who wrote it said that she thinks humans do activities like climbing mountains, crossing oceans and travelling to space for one similar reason, curiosity so therefore many astronauts go in space. I chose this mission because I think it is important to do research to find an Earth-Like planet because it will save humans in case of a dangerous catastrophe and we need more information about the moon. This mission is important for our future because if a disaster happens on the Earth, another habitation will save us, it will help us survive this major catastrophe and maybe reassure the people who are afraid that human beings will disappear because we didn’t find a plan B that would make us survive to a disaster.

Hello readers, my name is Charles Guimond and I am going to wright a document about a mission from NASA.
 
The mission is going to be about sending four spacecraft in space to go look for other planet like the Earth so we could live on it and find any proof of other life in space. It would answer one of our primary question about space: are we alone? A crew of scientist is going to be in charge of this special mission.
 
The mission will be far away in space.
They will send free flying spaceship in space with telescope measuring around 3 to 4 meters. The goals are to find planets similar to Earth to support human life and look for any proof of life on other planets.
 
Like Jacob said in the blog of life quest that we read in class, we are not 100% sure if there is life on other planets but I am sure about one thing this mission will answer to the question: are we alone?
I chose to talk about this mission because if there is a big catastrophe happening to Earth and we would know where to go, we are going to die but if this mission achieves is goal we would where to go.
One day there is going to be too much population on Earth so if we could find another planet we could split the population in half and send the other half to the new planet.

​Building a Permanent Habitat on the Moon

My name is Hyemin Choi in class 204. Today I’m going to talk about a space mission, building a permanent habitat for humans on the Moon. I chose this subject because it’s really interesting. Instead of searching for other life forms that we don’t even know if they really exist and other planets that are really far from the Earth, building a habitat on the Moon is more realistic. We have more information about the Moon since it is the closest natural satellite from the Earth and humans already went to the Moon. Also, I think this mission is important for our future because if the global warming gets worse than ever and if there are many disasters, it will help us to move to another place than the Earth.
 
The goal of this mission is to build a permanent habitat for humans on the Moon, but as we can`t live just with the permanent habitat, NASA astronauts will look if there will be frozen water and the possibility of installing solar energy panels. To finish this mission, we need a launch vehicle, Ares 1. We also need the lunar lander, a spacecraft designed to land on the Moon and modules. The astronauts will go to Moon’s south pole which has uninterrupted sunlight.
 
In my English class, I read people’s comments on a blog asking ‘Do you believe new life exists in other planets or galaxies and should we continue to explore?’. Someone said that we should search for habitats fit for human residence and it is more important than searching for new life forms. I definitely agree with this person because searching for other intelligent beings, it is not necessary at all for humans to live. For example, if we found out that alien exists, it wouldn’t mean that we can't eat or sleep, and no one would commit suicide because they know that aliens exist. So why should we continue to investigate? Building a permanent residence on the Moon is more helpful to humans than finding other life.
 
For example, Gliese 581 c, which is an Earth-Like planet that is 20.5 light years away. Even we already found this planet, we could not go on it because it is too far away. So why should we study for a planet that we could never go to with the technologies that we have? Of course, we can send a powerful telescope, but I think it’s just wasting money. Even if we study that planet, we could never reach it. So why should we? In my opinion, it just seams like a waste of money.
Building a permanent habitat on the Moon is the most important thing that we should start and work for.

​Finding a Habitable Planet

In my English class, we learned a lot about space. So today, I had to choose between 4 missions, and I chose the third: Finding a habitable planet. In my text I will give information about-it and my opinion on the subject.
The mission consists to send 4 separate spacecraft out of our Earth to see, if there is another planet with life. The scientists are the ones who will do this mission. More precisely, the ground team of the Darwin Mission. They will do the mission out of our planet, in the space, galaxy. The spacecraft will search around other stars and space and they will analyze atmosphere. The telescope will collect information and images to see if there is life anywhere in space. The mission’s goal is finding if there is life out of our planet and if there are other species in space. I read in a blog that some scientists think there is intelligent life on planets among the hundred billion stars in our galaxy. They base their hypothesis in the paleontology (prehistoric life) and the discoveries that have been made about science, I read in another blog the same thing, and a lot of person think like the scientists too. I chose to talk about this mission because I find it interesting to see if there is another planet with life in our galaxy. As well, if the planet will be worse than now with the pollution, climatic change and wars, it will be reassuring to know we would have a chance to survive on another planet in our galaxy. Maybe, if one day we find a habitable planet in our galaxy, a lot of trip in space will be done and it will be interesting to see this. Surely, a lot of search will be done too, so it will be very nice to see how they find. This mission is important for the future of humanity because it concerns the population of the world. We don’t know when the planet will be “dead” (with pollution, etc..), so when we will find a habitable planet, it will be very nice and reassuring for everyone.

International Space Station (ISS)

Hello, today I'm going to talk to you about the International space Station or ISS and the goals of that mission. In the ISS, they are trying to learn about the life in the low gravity. The astronauts in the ISS are also trying to retrieve or establish experiment outside the modules. As I speak to you, the astronauts in the ISS are continuing that mission. They are using component from many countries and a lot of scientific material.  The goals of this mission are very important because all the knowledge will be important for humanity to set a mission on Mars and build bases on the moon. I read in a blog that the NASA invented two Mars rovers. They are robots searching for sources of water on Mars. In the future, the robots will maybe help to know if Mars is an Earth-Like planet Like Gliese-581 c. Gliese-581 c is an Earth-Like planet very similar of our planet. In the text that I read they that Gliese-581 c have water and a solar system with a sun just like ours.  I choose to talk about this mission because it’s very important for the future. We have to find a rescue planet it's important to have one because if our planet die, we got a rescue planet. This mission is meaningful for humanity because the astronauts in the ISS are studying life in low gravity and, I think it would be an awesome discovering if all the world got to move to an Earth-Like planet like Gliese-581 c.

​A New Mission on the Moon

 Hi everybody, I read about space and I must give my opinion about a text I read in class. The text was about building a permanent habitat on the Moon.
 I'm writing about a new mission on the Moon to build a habitat on it that is going to stay there. The Nasa astronauts will go to the Moon a second time. They are going to build the habitat in the south pole of the Moon because the sun is always there. The astronauts will go there very soon to do the mission. They are going to use modules to build  the habitat. The goals of this mission are, to find frozen water and put solar energy on the Moon to collect the energy for the habitat where the scientists will do some tests. They do that because humans are very curious, and they  always must learn more and more information. I chose this mission because I think that is important to know the information they can possibly find. For me, it’s a good idea to have information about the Moon and space because if we must go on another planet we have to learn about space and to know if the planet is good for our life. This mission can also open the way to space tourism, but I don’t agree with this idea because it’s not fair for the other people who don’t have money for this type of tourism but it’s interesting to know how they are going to organize space tourism. This mission is important for the future of the humanity because, like I said if we must leave the Earth because we do pollution and we can’t stay on the Earth anymore we must learn about space and the planets that can be safe for us.

​Are There Other Earth-Like Planets?

Hello everybody, today I am going to talk about habitable planets. I read in a text that in the future, a team of experts are going to be the first people to know if we have found a new Earth-like planet. The mission is to find a planet where humans can live just like right now. Why do we need to find a planet that humans can live on? Because if one day the Earth gets attack by extraterrestrials, we will need to find somewhere to live and that is the reason why I chose to talk about this. In the text, they said that the ground squad of the Darwin mission will have a special task and it is to send some free flying spacecraft into space. They will send them to find a Earth-like planet, the spaceships will inspect the atmosphere and search for a sign of existence of life around the milky way. I saw that there is an Earth-like planet called Gliese 581 c. It has a lot in common with our sphere, the only differences are that it is bigger, is closer to the sun and it has much more gravity. We don’t know if we can really go there, it’s far and we don’t even know if there is water on it. But I have high hopes that we can go there. Do you believe that we can find another planet that is like Earth?

​NASA Building a Permanent Habitat on the Moon, Space Tourism

Hi, my name is Maia Boyer Luis I'm going to talk about the NASA's mission about building a permanent habitat on the moon. I chose this mission because it may pave a way to space tourism, may allow astronauts to find important information, like water or a new life form.
Building a permanent habitat on the Moon is a new mission that NASA (National Aeronautics space administration) will be doing very soon. The objective of the mission is to send astronauts on the moon to build a permanent habitat.
To complete the mission and to bring the materials using Ares 1 (launch vehicle that was abandoned in 2010. it was used to bring astronauts and material) will be carrying the lunar lander (spacecraft used to land on the moon and can carry two astronauts) and modules to start building the permanent habitat on the moon. NASA’s goal is to find frozen water, head to the moon’s south pole because of the constant sunlight and put solar energy panels to accumulate energy from the base.
I read a blog of someone called Ashley and she said that we should stop searching for other life forms or exploring other planets because we should spend the money on other things and save our planet instead, I disagree with her. I think we should continue searching because it can lead the many discoveries or accomplishment like paving a way for space tourism. What do you think about building a permanent habitat on the moon?

Hello, today I'm going to talk about building a permanent habitat on the moon. It’s a very interesting mission that I think you will enjoy. This mission is an idea made by Nasa. Nasa astronauts might have a new permanent habitat to stay on the moon. They will build a permanent habitat on the south pole of the moon to get solar energy sunlight. In my opinion, I think they will accomplish this mission in the next forty years.
 
To do this mission they will need to use an Ares 1 launch vehicle that will carry a lunar lander and modules to build a habitat on the moon. Their goal is to collect information about the hazards of establishing a base on the moon, this information will be very valuable for future mission. If this mission doesn’t turn out well, they could move to the international space station. They could also use this mission to learn and have more experience for when they’re going to visit other habitable planets. I chose this mission because I think it would be nice to live on the moon and have a cool space car. This mission is important for the future because it will pave the way for future space tourism for the public. Because of the new technology they will use for it

​Finding a Habitable Planet, a Complex Mission. 

Hello, today I will talk about finding an earth-like planet and how professionals do it. This mission will be important for the future of humanity because if a catastrophe happens to earth and the planet isn’t safe to live on anymore, we need to have options for the population. With the climate change and pollution, it is very plausible that the planet becomes unsafe for humans. Therefore, the research for earth-like planets for us to live on is very important. The first people that will be aware of the discovery of an earth-like planet will be scientists. There is only one task to do, and it will be done by the team of the Darwin Mission that is on earth. They will have to send four spacecraft to do researches about planets that could support life. The team will also send telescopes that have a length of three to four meters, those telescopes will be carried by three of the space shuttles. The spaceships will look for planets that could host life in space. They will examine their atmospheres and search for any sign of life. Information and pictures will be collected by the telescopes.
Recently I read on an article that a planet named Gliese 581 c has been found and there is a possibility that this planet could be habitable. Research about it still needs to be done with those same telescopes. Also, I read on a blog that years ago we found out that there is water on mars, but because of its cold temperatures the water is frozen. Still, the planet has biological potential. I chose to talk about this mission because the research about planets that could host life really interests me. I also believe in the existence of other intelligent life, so this mission taught me a lot about those researches.

With my class, I read a text about that and I discovered that Appolo eleven, twelve, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen and seventeen were a mission to find new things about the moon. For a new mission, the astronauts will return to the Moon. I read that the astronauts will be leaving very soon. What is the purpose of their arrival on the moon? The astronauts are going to the moon because they want to build a permanent habitat. They will also have to dig to see if they can find frozen water and install solar power energy panels to collect energy for the base. To go to the moon, they will take Ares 1 rocket during the whole trip. I chose this mission because this mission talks about the moon. I read a text about this and I was very interested when they said that maybe they can find frozen water on the moon. This mission is important for the future of humanity because if they find something like water or other information about the moon, I think that we can know if humans can live on moon to discover new things.

A few day ago, I read in a newspaper that astronauts from the N.A.S.A will have a new mission. Astronauts will go again on the moon to build a station. That will help them to collect more data from the moon and space and to see the space in another angle. They want to build the station on the illuminated face of the moon to collect solar energy needed to operate the station. To build the station they will send a rocket in space that will have inside the materials to build the station and a lunar vehicle that will build the station for them. Because it is complicated to live in a such place, all the data they will collect will be sent to the operator who are on the earth. This mission will be important for the future of the humanity because it will help us to discover the moon and to maybe support a few of citizens there. I really liked to read about this mission and to share it with you guys because I really want to know more about our galaxy and its planets.

​Finding a Habitable Planet for Humans

Hello everyone, today I'm going to tell you about a space program that’s going to take place soon. This space program is about finding a habitable planet for humans. A team of scientists and some ground workers of the mission Darwin are going to launch big telescopes to look for other planets in other solar systems that could potentially be habitable by humans. If they find a planet, it must be earth-like. We already found a planet that might be habitable for human life. It's called Gliese 581 c. It can potentially carry other life forms and might be available for humans to live on. I like this space mission because I'd love to know if there are other life forms in our universe and if there are other planets we can escape to if anything bad happens to earth. for example, if a nuclear war ends up destroying everything, were going to have to go live on another planet. I think it’s a very interesting subject to talk and write about. I also think this space program is a must for the future of humanity and to make sure were going to survive for a long time. I also don’t want to get killed by a big meteor falling on earth like the dinosaurs did so that’s another reason why we need space programs to make sure our earth is doing fine.

​Hubble Space Telescope

Hi, Everybody! Today I wanted to talk to you about the space mission to repair the Hubble space telescope. The space shuttle Atlantis transported the astronaut that we are chosen to do the mission, to about 600 km over Earth. The mission was to go repair the Hubble space telescope. The spacewalkers had to fix the internal and external components of the telescope, set up new scientific hardware and repair the broken tools. For example, they replaced six gyroscopes and the field camera. The workers worked hard on this mission and did so many spacewalks. The space telescopes must be working well because we need to learn more and check if a dangerous event will happen to Earth. The scientists are trying to search the answer to the question “Are there any other planets that supports life? “. We are going to need to know soon because if something big happens to the whole planet we will go on another planet. I think we all should support this mission and of course the astronauts because, it is hard to work in space and it is really tiring. The space travelers must train every day to stay in good health. I read in a blog, opinions about what people thought of space exploration program. I agree with the people who said that space exploration is good for us to know about space. I think we should continue space exploration with our new technology because it helps us to develop our knowledge and our IQ. And you What do you think about space exploration?

Finding a Habitable Planet

I have been reading a lot of text about space but now, it's your turn. In this text, I am going to talk about finding a habitable planet. 
 
A crew of scientist are working on finding earth-like planets. There is a crew of people named the ground crew who are in charge of this mission. They will stay on earth, but the mission will be in space. The scientist will send free flying spacecraft. They will look around to find earth-like planets close to others stars and analyze their atmosphere. Three of the spacecraft will have telescopes. The telescopes will gather information and images and send them back to earth. 
 
It is very important to find a habitable planet because it is a matter of life and  death because we need a place to live if one day something forces us to leave earth. For example, if the pollution continues to grow, it could have a big impact in our health and maybe we won't be able to live anymore on this planet. that’s why I chose to talk about this subject. To have another place to live is fundamental. We can say that the crew of scientist are already working on this. There are not able to go too far because they don’t have the technology to send humans. That’s why they are using free flying spacecraft. These spacecraft don’t carry humans. Not long ago they found a planet named Gliese 581 c. This planet is 20.5 light years away. It is 1.5 bigger than earth. It has water and maybe it could have lakes, rivers and oceans. It has a sun and orbiting planets. There is one problem,  this planet  may not be able to host animals and vegetables. If they were that close to find the perfect  planet, I have hope that they could find a planet where we could live forever.

​The International Space Station

Right now, there is a mission taking place 400km above us that started in 1990 on the International Space Station, an establishment in space to study and investigate the cosmos, that it is growing up a bit each one or two years. The people inside the International Space Station are astronauts from different countries. The astronauts reach and transport material to the International Space Station thanks to the space shuttles. The space shuttles are recyclable means of transportation for astronauts to go to the moon or the space stations. After, they add their country components that they brought inside the station and outside the station using the space suit. The goals of the International Space Station are to support scientific investigation and other activities related to humans in space. They are studying the gravitation on planets and apply the new components to have a better equipment to investigate space physics. They can build better space tools, like telescopes to easily find new Earth-like planets. They can build new arms to take space debris to study them.  I like this mission because the crew members inside the (ISS) are from different countries and they’re coopering to investigate space and find new Earth-like planets. For me this mission is important because they’re planning to build headquarters on the moon and set more expeditions on Mars to search new things that we don’t know about this planet.

An Astronaut Mission to Find an Earth-Like Planet

Hi, my name is Yoann and today I'm going to talk about an astronaut mission to find an Earth-like planet. The mission of the astronauts will be to find Earth-like is planet with a lot of resources like trees, to breath on the planet, and water, to water the plants and to start some farms, and some animals to breed some more animals like that we are going to have more and more animal. And the people who are doing this mission are well trained scientists and they're good at it. The place where they are going is in space because they need to use powerful telescopes. I already told you that think but their goal is to find an Earth-like planet to live in the future if something happens to the Earth. From the text I read, I think that extraterrestrials exist. And a space shuttle is the way of transportation for the astronauts., some scientists found an Milkyway that is it is called the constellation libra, and their sun (star) is cold Gliese 581. I chose this mission because I thought it was cool to find an Earth-like planet to maybe live on in the future. This mission is important because I think it will be useful because if something append to our planet, we could move planet.

Hello, today I will talk about the International space station (ISS). The ISS is a large place in space orbit around Earth. For this mission, The NAZA test to analysis that  it slowly growing. Gradually Different countries participate in this mission. The mission is 400 KM above the earth.  This is very high. With life sciences, earth observation and astronomic.  A girl said in a blog that the NASA is using the space station to learn more about living and working in space.
It is an important mission for the future of humanity because imagine if one day the Earth would be destroyed by meteorite. we would have nowhere to go so if they work on this mission, we could have a place to live (we could live on Mars or the moon). Like I said, I support this because, I am afraid that for example a meteorite will destroy the earth and we would have nowhere to go. For this mission, they have people, but not just from the UNITED STATES, but from other countries. I hope that helped to understand this mission.

For many years, humans have been trying hard to know more about the unknown space and learn from all its mysteries. Very soon, the astronauts from the NASA will want to build a permanent habitat on the Moon`s south pole. To achieve this goal, NASA workers will send a huge spaceship named Ares 1. This aircraft will bring a lunar lander to help to build the permanent habitat. The first goal of this mission is to see if there’s frozen water on the moon by digging deeply into the surface of this natural satellite. The second goal for this mission is to put in place solar energy panels. With this procedure, the astronauts will be able to collect energy from the sun. I read a blog and one of the bloggers named Jacob said that space exploration will permit us (humans) to start a civilization on another surface that is not the Earth. if this is possible, in case of a global disaster, this permanent habitat will save human race. In the past, human being had the chance to go to the Moon. therefore, this natural satellite is a place that human race already knows so the permanent habitat will allow them to collect more information. I chose to write about this mission because I thought it was interesting: we are talking about building a permanent habitat on the Moon! That sounds impressive. For the future of humanity (the economical side), this mission is important because this permanent habitat will maybe secure the way for tourism out space and rich people will maybe pay a lot of money to go, and NASA workers will collect information extremely precious from the Moon.

​Space Mission: Building a Permanent Habitat on the Moon 

Hello, 
Today I am going to talk to you about an interesting mission that is currently being organized by the NASA. Soon, astronauts will go on the moon, with the goal to build a permanent habitat there. 
As you probably already know, astronauts went to the moon, many times. But now, they will try to build a permanent habitat there. They plan on building it on the moon's south pole, because this is where there is the most light from the sun. The astronauts will have to dig to try to find frozen water and install some solar energy panels. The Ares 1 rocket will carry the lunar lander and the modules that are needed to build the station. If they achieve their goal, even with all the challenges that bring building a habitat on the moon, it should really help the development of space tourism.  
A little while ago, I read on a blog the comment of a young girl named Ashley. She was saying that the reason we want to explore space is mostly by curiosity, and I agree with her. It’s in the human’s nature to want to discover new things and to learn more about what’s around us, so I think this mission is a good idea because we could discover new information, and it will help space tourism. If it continues like that, maybe that a lot of normal people will be able to fulfill their curiosity and to visit the moon, or maybe even other planets. Also, this mission would be very helpful to astronauts to realize tasks in space, which once again will help us make new discoveries.  
I think this mission is important for the future of humanity since it should really help us learn more about space, so if a catastrophe happens on earth and we need to evacuate we will have more knowledge about how to survive and live in space. It should also help astronauts to achieve their regular tasks and it will help the development of space tourism.

Discovering a habitable planet  ​

In English class, we talked about space exploration so I will talk about a space mission. A crew of scientist will maybe find some life form or a habitable planet. Yes, you read well, the crew of the Darwin Mission will send some spaceships into  space to search for an earth-like planet.  Some of the spaceships  will carry  space telescope.  
 The spaceships will be free-flying. It means they will control it by distance. It will search for earth-like planets. They will analyze the atmosphere and maybe sign of life. Honestly, I'm pretty sure that they will find an earth-like planets because I read in a blog that someone said that there are billion of planets so it's sure that there is life. I read another article that said that scientist found earth like planet in another constellation. So, if there is an earth- like planet there, maybe there is one more closer  with better conditions.  
 I chose to talk about this because I think it's very interesting because maybe with this mission, we will be able to find an earth-like planet if there is a big disaster on earth and we need to leave our planet. It's interesting too because this mission will answer another question that we all have: are we alone? this with this mission, maybe that we will find extraterrestrial life. 
 This mission will be important for humanity because, like I already said, if there a problem on earth and we need to leave we will have a planet to go to.

​The International Space Station (ISS)

The ISS mission is a mission with the objective of building bases on the Moon and do a human exploration on Mars. Before doing that, some researchers need to do some experimentations about other life in low-gravity and astronomy. The mission will be done by astronauts from different countries. They will pass more than one hundred days in space. Humans are curious by nature, they do a lot of things to know some new things, that’s why we want to know if there is other life in other planets. That’s why we want to do this mission. We also think that in the future, we will need to leave the earth to go on another planet, so we research other planets. In this mission, the astronauts will work outside of the station during four or five hours to do some experiments.
 
I chose this mission because I think it is important to see if a human can live on Mars or build a base on the Moon because it will help us to resolve the big question that everyone ask: are we alone? And also, it will help to find other planets. But after that, what are we going to do?

Building a permanent habitat on the Moon or Mars ​

Hi,  my name is Orlane Ngueukam  and today I will talk about what our new project in class. So our project is to talk about a space mission that we find interesting. I chose a new mission of the NASA.  This new mission is different cause this time, they will try to build a stable habitat on the Moon.  Astronauts are in the Ares 1 space shuttle. Ares 1 is a launch vehicle. NASA will go to the moon very soon.  To do this mission, they will presumably go to the moon south pole. The goal  of this mission is to see if they will find frozen water and install energy  panels for the base. I chose this mission and not the others ones because. For me it was the less simple to explain because is just some astronauts that try to went to the moon. . This mission is important for the future  of humanity because. If they can create an habitat on moon, that means humans can live on it.  If they will be able to install solar energy for the base . we will be able to have less pollution. Because solar energy from the moon is a source of energy saving. Finally, what did I learned about info from previous text. Is that humans had climbed high mountain crossed the oceans ans traveled to the moon , all for the same reason.

Interview a Witness

Some weeks ago, students of secondary 2 on program LCC did a special project. Effectively, they had the choice to interview a witness who met an extraterrestrial or interview a witness who visited a parallel universe.  they were in teams of 2 people. In these teams, there was a person who played the witness and another person who played the journalist. But, they recorded the interview on Microsoft Teams. I participated on this project and it was so different of what we are doing usually. I was a little bit uncomfortable, but I think it was good to test something new.
