Can Cold Weather Give Us a Cold?

Cold weather can make us sick: Is it real or fake? 
There is an old belief that says that if you are outside in the cold without your winter clothing, you have more chances to become sick. Is it real or fake?
​Our grandmothers used to say that cold weather can make us sick, but it is not real. Cold weather by itself can’t make us sick. On the other hand, if there are viruses, bacteria or microbes, cold weather can contribute to make us sick. There are many reasons to explain why it can increase the risks of being sick. Our immune system is weaker in the cold than in a temperature over 20 degrees because our body is fighting to keep us warm.  Our body uses so much energy to keep us warm that it has less energy to fight viruses.
