Earth Day (April 22) Since its establishment in April 1970, Earth Day has served as a global platform to express our love for the planet and address the environmental challenges we face. Founded by Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin, this movement continues to unite people worldwide in their shared commitment to fight climate change. It's more than just a day, it's a chance for us all to take action and inspire change.

Be A Planet Hero!
Every small step counts, and together, we can make a big difference:
- Carry reusable bags: One reusable bag has the potential to eliminate 600 plastic bags over its lifetime. Keep one handy for trips to the store. It’s a simple habit that helps reduce plastic waste.
- Recycle smarter: Recycling just one soda can saves enough energy to power a TV for three hours. It’s a reminder that small actions lead to big energy savings.
- Cut energy use: Turning off your computer when it’s not in use can reduce its energy consumption by a staggering 85%. A quick shutdown is all it takes to make a big impact.
- Conserve water: As we learned in science class, although water seems abundant, only 1% of Earth's water is actually reachable. Saving water by turning off the tap while brushing your teeth or fixing leaks helps preserve this precious resource.
- Choose walking over driving: For every mile walked instead of driven, nearly one pound of pollution is kept out of the air. Opting to walk whenever possible also benefits your health and the planet!
