Poems Against Discrimination
After researching the origins of Black History Month and talking about prejudice, students had to write a poem against any form of discrimination.
Here are their beautiful poems!

I just need a clue (Audrey, Michaella, Charlotte)
always feel judged
No matter what I do
I feel like I’m falling of a bridge
I just need a clue
I feel pressured to look a certain way
That it ruins my day
I can’t do this anymore
What is it all for ?
Sometime I wonder
About the way people judge
Look of distaste
Why must they hold a grudge
We see glimpses of each other
And think their “judgement off
But we hide ourselves undercovers
And hope they’ll buy our bluff
always feel judged
No matter what I do
I feel like I’m falling of a bridge
I just need a clue
I feel pressured to look a certain way
That it ruins my day
I can’t do this anymore
What is it all for ?
Sometime I wonder
About the way people judge
Look of distaste
Why must they hold a grudge
We see glimpses of each other
And think their “judgement off
But we hide ourselves undercovers
And hope they’ll buy our bluff
Inequalities of the society (Alexis)
Saw a squatter to evict
The homeless being beat up
I went there to try to stop
This unethical conflict
While the wealthy have money to burn
And drive overpriced automobiles
The needy eat garbage each in turn
And never get to sniffa c-bill
Saw a squatter to evict
The homeless being beat up
I went there to try to stop
This unethical conflict
While the wealthy have money to burn
And drive overpriced automobiles
The needy eat garbage each in turn
And never get to sniffa c-bill
The skin we wear (Anaïs and Soundous)
In this world, there’s a lot of discrimination
Humans are not happy with this situation
When we see discrimination, we should go help
People who live this have a huge weight on their shoulders
Being a black person in this world is hard
We are the target of the security guards
In certain countries, people look at us weird
Ask to touch my hairs, I never volunteered
The skin we wear
The heart that beats
Souls, the spirit shared
Against racism, silent feat

Not looking for trouble (Esteban and Victor)
I am proud to be black
But they didn’t want me back
I had lots of money
But they didn’t want me
I wanted to get in for something
But they thought I was robbing
People act like that because I’m black
But I know they don’t want me back
I went to the shop
Not to blow it up
These racist people think I rob
I came to fill my wardrobe
I am proud to be black
But they didn’t want me back
I had lots of money
But they didn’t want me
I wanted to get in for something
But they thought I was robbing

Not to blow it up
These racist people think I rob
I came to fill my wardrobe
They asked me to go back (Loïc)
I was in a store just shopping
I wasn't touching anything
Until a man came to frisk me
I can’t shop pacifically
Because my skin colour was black
Employees asked me to go back
They really think I stole something
It is my skin colour I think
I was in a store just shopping
I wasn't touching anything
Until a man came to frisk me
I can’t shop pacifically
Because my skin colour was black
Employees asked me to go back
They really think I stole something

George Floyd (Moises et Thierry)
In a Minneapolis town, George Floyd met his end
Injustice and cruelty, a message we must send
A knee on his neck, he couldn’t break free
His plea for Merey, unheard by all who see
His tragic death, a mirror to our flaws
A reminder to fight against unjust laws
Let his story ignite a flame in our hearths
To stand up for justice and create new starts

Love One Another (anonymous)
You can lose
You can win
But you can’t
Choose your skin
In the news
I see war and killing
Just because who these people are
Their origins
Religion
Is one of the greatest divisions
People of faith
Make the worst decisions
They will hate my friends
For their gender and who they like
That’s why I will never surrender
And stop fighting a good fight
Everybody is equal
At the end of the day
Our body may look different
Inside we’re the same
Love one another
Let’s embrace our differences
Love one another
That’s what’s really important
You can lose
You can win
But you can’t
Choose your skin
In the news
I see war and killing
Just because who these people are
Their origins

Being Young (Jeanne)
You say I don’t know what I’m talking about
But I know it’s only because I’m younger
You say I should stop opening my mouth
I have things to say, but I have to stay with my anger
But I know that one day I will become loud
You say I don’t know what I’m talking about
But I know it’s only because I’m younger
You say I should stop opening my mouth
I have things to say, but I have to stay with my anger
But I know that one day I will become loud
A Boy Being Feminine (Jeanne)
Being a boy in a dress should not cause me stress
Why do I always seem to get harshly judged
Because of my look I always seem to jet less
I am tired of always getting misjudged
Being a boy in a dress should not cause me stress
Why do I always seem to get harshly judged
Because of my look I always seem to jet less
I am tired of always getting misjudged
People who judge (Rose and Isabella)
I don’t like people that judge
It doesn’t seem to do much
We both think that it is bad
It makes us feel really sad
Just because you hate your life
You don’t need to critic mine
When you see me in the halls
You go push me on the walls
If you have probems at home
It’s not other people’s fault
Please go watch the movie bolt
And to jugment you say NO !
I don’t like people that judge
It doesn’t seem to do much
We both think that it is bad
It makes us feel really sad
Just because you hate your life

In the end, we’re all the same (Samia, Adéliane and Éléonore)
Mohammed sent his application
Jacques saw his name, then he declined it
He ate pork to mock this religion
But still, Mohammed reached the summit
Fong went to get her lashes done
Being asian can’t be undone
She cries as the worker rushes
“Your eyes aren’t fit for lashes”
Fatima went to the jewelry store
A white woman told her “There is the door”
“You’re not welcome here in case you forgot”
But did she deserve the treatment she got?
Aren’t those stories so lame?
In the end, we’re all the same
Why still make people suffer?
We have better to offer

She always worries (Kimie and Allison)
Because she is black
You talk in her back
Anyways at the end
Your not even her friend
You say useless words
That ruins her whole world
Now she is mad
You make her sad
She always worries
About her body
She wants peace
Leave her please
Because she is black
You talk in her back
Anyways at the end
Your not even her friend
You say useless words
That ruins her whole world
Now she is mad
You make her sad
She always worries
About her body
She wants peace
Leave her please
Nobody’s sad (Felix and Noam)
Why do they call her wack
Maybe it’s cause she’s black
They want to keep her shut
But the black girl has guts
She used to wear hijab
But the Arab girl got stabbed
I see that nobody’s sad
Nobody except her dad
The guy dresses like a girl
Both of his ears, there are pearls
Some think it’s scandalous
They say it is outrageous
Why do they call her wack
Maybe it’s cause she’s black
They want to keep her shut
But the black girl has guts
She used to wear hijab
But the Arab girl got stabbed
I see that nobody’s sad
Nobody except her dad
The guy dresses like a girl
Both of his ears, there are pearls
Some think it’s scandalous
They say it is outrageous
I want them to see the real me (Théo, Lili and Adrien)
While I was just shopping
I was not disturbing
But because of my skin
They thought I was stealing
Because I am black
They talk behind my back
When I do something bad
They are always mad
Because of my anormal look
I’m getting really overlooked
I want them to see the real me
Why can’t they just accept my body
While I was get this fancy store
This old lady thought I was poor
It’s always the white person
Who thinks I’m a bad person
While I was just shopping
I was not disturbing
But because of my skin
They thought I was stealing
Because I am black
They talk behind my back
When I do something bad
They are always mad
Because of my anormal look
I’m getting really overlooked
I want them to see the real me
Why can’t they just accept my body
While I was get this fancy store
This old lady thought I was poor
It’s always the white person
Who thinks I’m a bad person
They don’t want me (Florence, Ezékiel et Radia)
She went to a store
And cause of her clothes
They said they were closed
They thought she was poor
Religion taught me to trust in god
People annoy me, what were the odds
People told me I have no honor
And now I feel more lost than before
They’re afraid of me cause I wear a hijab
But I prefer going to the gym to make abs
It is not because I have a full backpack
That I’m gonna make a terrorist attack
When I first entered in this huge country
I didn’t have a cent to do laundry
The government says I am welcome
But they don’t want me to come
She went to a store
And cause of her clothes
They said they were closed
They thought she was poor
Religion taught me to trust in god
People annoy me, what were the odds
People told me I have no honor
And now I feel more lost than before
They’re afraid of me cause I wear a hijab
But I prefer going to the gym to make abs
It is not because I have a full backpack
That I’m gonna make a terrorist attack
When I first entered in this huge country
I didn’t have a cent to do laundry
The government says I am welcome
But they don’t want me to come
